    Our full-time study programmes are designed to maximise your career prospects and widen your options for further or higher study.
    This course has been designed to introduce you to the world of business, studying pathways including Business Administration, Business Enterprise and Working Effectively in Business.
    As part of the programme you will investigate business practices and create business ideas, as well as develop essential business and administrative skills. You will continue to study essential Maths and English as well as employability skills.
    Work experience is also an integral part of our study programmes, enabling you to gain essential exposure to the world of work.
  • How will I be assessed?

    There will be continuous assessment throughout the course based on a range of assignments and activities. These will include a mixture of:
    • Presentations
    • Observations
    • Written reports
    • Professional discussions
    • Group assessments
    • Role Play
    • Practical activities
    • Exam (one online, one written)
  • What can I expect to learn?

    This course is equivalent to five GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C) and provides you with an exciting insight to the world of business and enterprise. The units include:
    • Enterprise in the Business World
    • Principles of Marketing
    • Promoting a Brand
    • Business Online
    • Sales & Personal Selling
    • Finance for Business
    • Introducing Law and Consumer Rights
    You will also continue to develop your English and maths skills and will be given the opportunity to re-sit your Maths and/or English GCSE.
    The course will be delivered by experienced tutors from the world of business. As well as classroom teaching, you will get to investigate local and national businesses, including guest speakers from these businesses and visits to their place of work. You will participate in regional and national enterprise competitions and you will be given the opportunity to complete work experience.
    We encourage our students to continue their English & maths study to Level 3
  • How can I progress after this course?

    After you have completed the course you could remain in College and progress on to the Business BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 course.
    Alternatively, if you choose to look for paid work you could opt for a Business Apprenticeship and work as an apprentice Administrator.

    Following further study you could work as:
    • An Accounts Clerk where you can earn between £16,000 and £22,000 a year, depending on experience.
    • An Administrative Assistant and earn between £14,000 and £22,000 a year, depending on experience.
    • A HR Officer, earns an average of £30,000 a year
  • What do I need to join the course?

    We ask that you have four GCSEs grades 8-4 (A-D) including Maths and English and we will also invite you to attend an interview and provide a satisfactory school reference.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, please call our helpline on 01204 482 000.

Learners will not be able to enrol without this information. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one you need):
