Wedding Photography

  • Overview of the course

    This course is meant for those students who would like to learn the basics of wedding photography with an experienced lecturer. Over two Saturday mornings you will learn how to set up your camera and equipment to capture successful portraits, realise the importance of planning a wedding photography session including location spotting (within the college premises), working as a small team, organising groups and how to overcome other issues you may encounter. During the second session you will also work with a model on planned poses and locations. This course is not for beginners.

    You will cover these areas:
    ? getting best out of your equipment under different conditions
    ? consider additional equipment
    ? realise the importance of planning
    ? practice capturing wedding portraits
  • Entry requirements

    You will need an SLR digital camera and a tripod, additional flash would also be an advantage. You might also need to bring a USB lead or a card reader.
    You will need to know how to change settings on the camera such as aperture, speed, white balance etc. with ease.
    This course is not aimed at beginners!
    Interview with tutor necessary.

    You will receive informal feedback throughout the course and you are welcome to e-mail images for quick written feedback.

    You will be expected to work as a part of a small group and support each other in practical parts of the sessions.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, please call our helpline on 01204 482 000.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must bring their qualification certificates with them to enrolment. Learners will not be able to enrol without this information. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one you need):
    If you are unable to provide certificates you will be asked to complete a self declaration form when you enrol.
