    This snappy two week course will give you a taster of how hospitality industry operates and will prepare you for the Hospitality L1 Award. You’ll gain an insight into the Hospitality industry picking up some useful knowledge and skills along the way.

    * Demonstrate effective teamwork
    * Demonstrate awareness of the importance of good personal presentation

    You must be over 19 years old. You also need to come to college with a good attitude and be prepared to work hard
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder of work which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your Individual Learning Plan.

    You can progress on to the Hospitality Level 1 Award with Food Safety option. There are also other excellent work based qualifications that you might be interested in such as Employability Skills for Confidence and Work and Customer Service L1/L2.

    Other courses available to support your learning:
    • Free English and maths courses for those who have not yet attained a grade at C at GCSE (grade 4 equivalent)
    • Free digital literacy courses for beginners in computing and tablets
    • Free positive steps to wellbeing courses to support improved mental wellbeing, health and confidence
    • A range of employability skills courses

    Information, advice and guidance is available at all Bolton College centres. Our Adult Community Learning Job Coach is available to support learners who are seeking employment.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, please call our helpline on 01204 482 000.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must bring their qualification certificates with them to enrolment. Learners will not be able to enrol without this information. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one you need):
    If you are unable to provide certificates you will be asked to complete a self declaration form when you enrol.
