Skills to a T - Technical Content

You’ll learn the basics of your occupation at Level 2, and if you’re ready, you may also take some units of the Engineering & Manufacturing T Level programme.

 

Throughout, we’ll assess your needs, identifying gaps in learning, so that at the end of your programme, you’ll have the skills and confidence to succeed on the Engineering & Manufacturing T Level.  

 

 

 

Skills to a T - Work Experience

Work experience is a key element of this programme, enabling you to develop the skills to successfully complete the T Level Industry Placement, and for future workplace readiness.

 

You’ll be prepared for your work experience in advance with talks and pre-visits, ensuring you get the most out of the experience.

 

You’ll also be supported to develop your employability skills - problem solving, interview skills, CV writing and more - as part of the programme.

 

Skills to a T - Progression and Career Options

Successful completion of this programme will allow you to progress directly on to the Engineering & Manufacturing T Level, a qualification that will prepare you for employment in most sectors, where you’ll be able to pursue a range of careers, and you could eventually work as a:

  • Manufacturing Engineer, within an assembly manufacturing facility, ensuring that products are built efficiently and to budget, earning up to £35,000 per year.
  • Automation & Innovation Engineer, possessing a broad knowledge of business processes and emerging technology solutions, earning up to £50,000 per year.
  • Electrical & Electronic Engineer, implementing a maintenance programme and replacing aged and obsolete electrical and electronic systems, as well as maintaining standards within a mature manufacturing environment, earning up to £50,000 per year.
  • Automotive Vehicle Technician, possessing a broad knowledge of maintenance, repair and installation skills associated with the safe maintenance and diagnostic analysis with present and emerging new technology like hybrid and electric vehicles, earning up to £35,000 per year.
  • Automotive Engineer, within an assembly plant facility, ensuring that products are planned, designed and built efficiently and to a budget, earning up to £35,000 per year.

Skills to a T - English and maths

English and/or maths is an important part of the programme, giving you the underpinning skills to achieve your potential in your T Level, employment and further learning. As such, we’ll help you achieve the grades you need for your T Level. 

 

 

Skills to a T - Tailored to your needs

Working with your Tutors, Careers Coaches and Learning Development Mentor, this element of the Skills to a T programme will be tailored to your individual needs, supporting your progression to the Engineering & Manufacturing T Level. You’ll receive individual mentoring and personal development tutoring, including:

  • Activities to develop confidence and resilience
  • Group work to develop communication skills
  • Tutorials and seminars, including careers education
  • Study skills, with opportunities to develop reading, writing, referencing and interpretation
  • Life skills
  • Additional support, if you need it
