Overview of the course
Our full-time study programmes are designed to maximise your career prospects and widen your options for further or higher study.
If you’re sociable, a good listener and want a career that makes others feel their best, then this course will enable you to gain the right level of qualifications to progress within the field of beauty therapy.
You will have the opportunity to treat members of the public in our suite of professional beauty treatment rooms.
This is an internationally recognised qualification which will enable you to apply for employment worldwide.
Work experience is also an integral part of our study programmes, enabling you to gain essential exposure to the world of work.

• Face Painting
• Nail Art
• Creating an Image Using Colour
• Temporary Colour
• 30 Hour Work Placement
GCSE English and maths at grade 3 or above.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed while working in the College salons on paying clients. The practical tasks are assessed and your achievements will be recorded in your
log book. There are oral questions to assess knowledge, as well as some assignment work. Records of all the work undertaken should be kept to provide evidence of competence; these will form the basis of your portfolio.

This will give you a range of additional skills and experiences, and includes masterclasses; university visits; access to industry experts; and mentoring and support with your university application, perfect for that next step into Higher Education.
After you have completed the course you could progress on to a higher education course at college or university or continue your study with an Apprenticeship.
Following further study you could work as:
• A Beauty Therapist, earning between £12,000 and
£18,000 a year depending on experience
• A Salon Manager, earning between £18,000 and £21,000 a year
• A Make-up Artist, with earning potential of £20,000

and a rounded view of the industry you could one day be working in. So, during your time at College, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of activities, including:
• Receive training from industry professionals, such as Ellisons, Studex, St. Tropez, Dermalogica and Eve Taylor
• The annual Beauty Showcase, where you can display your creative and technical skills
• Opportunity to raise money for charity through offering treatments to the public
As part of our Pre-Professionals Programme, you’ll have your own personal Learning Development Mentor and Careers Coach. They’ll help you to manage your studies, oversee your progress and aid in your personal development.
You’ll also benefit from quality work experience and industry placements, ensuring that you’re ready for the world of work.
You could also benefit from getting involved in volunteering opportunities, both locally and abroad, and youth social action projects, perfect for enhancing your CV.
