    This innovative T Level will give you a specialist qualification in Gas Engineering, opening up an exciting range of career prospects!
    Equivalent to three A Levels, this two-year programme has also been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses, so you can rest assured that the content is relevant and up to date.
    You’ll spend 20% of your time on an Industry Placement, giving you vital experience in the world of work and a
    CV to wow future employers. Your employer may also provide you with that invaluable first reference, whilst a number of our students have also been offered full-time contracts following successful Industry Placements.

    Topics covered include:

    • Building Technology Principles
    • Building Services Engineering Systems
    • Construction Methods

    You’ll then take it to the next level, focusing on one occupational specialism: Gas Engineering.

    You’ll study the theoretical elements of gas installation and be trained to industry levels in the workshop, covering a range of activities similar to the training a domestic gas engineer covers.

    In the classroom, you’ll cover:

    • Legislation
    • Combustion
    • Gases
    • Pipework
    • Flues
    • Ventilation
    • Appliances

    In the workshop you’ll use the Apprentices Training Manual (ATM), which will take you from basic fabrications of materials and health and safety working practices to advanced calculations and installation techniques used in the gas industry.

    Elements of Study
    Your programme consists of the following elements:

    • Study of your chosen vocational subject - 80% of your programme
    • Employability skills, such as punctuality, attendance, communication and team work but most especially the values and expectations of your chosen occupational sector
    • Industry Placement, giving you a taste of working life – 20% of your programme
    • Tutorial and personal development, such as healthy living, volunteering and citizenship skills

    A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
  • How will I be assessed?

    You’ll be assessed via a mixture of exam(s) and employer-set projects.
  • Future opportunities

    The sole purpose of a T Level is to prepare you for employment and a dynamic career. Following further study, you could work as a:

    • Gas Service Technician, earning up to £38,000 per year
    • Heating & Ventilation Engineer, earning up to
    £35,000 per year
    • Oil & Gas Operations Manager, earning up to £75,000 per year
    As the T Level is equivalent to three A Levels, you could even decide to progress to university or a paid Apprenticeship, if you choose.
