Bolton College’s Hairdressing and Barbering department is celebrating after three of its talented learners secured first place in a prestigious competition.

Hairdressing, Barbering and Media Make-up students travelled to Blackpool’s Winter Gardens to participate in the North West Association of Hairdressing Teachers (AHT) competitions.

Despite tough competition, Barbering Level 2 student Kajwan Jabary secured 1st place, wowing judges with his cut and finish on model Dominik Hlavac.

Callum Stamp and Annalise Heald were also triumphant, winning 1^st place in the bridal category for their stunning transformation of their model.

The winners will now complete in the national heats in March, and if they’re successful, they’ll participate in the world skills finals later this year.

Tutor Mandy Molyneux said: “I’m delighted with these fantastic results. Our students have an immense amount of talent and the results of the competition reflect that.”
