Whether you want to improve your watercolour skills or develop a portfolio of artwork to gain access to University, we have a class to suit your needs and aspirations. 

Every one of our Visual and Performing Arts courses is practical and hands-on, encouraging you to try out your ideas and gain new skills. Training in the arts allows you to explore your interests, develop confidence, discover new talents and enhance your creativity. You can choose an accredited or an adult safeguarded learning class.

All our Tutors are highly trained practitioners who bring a wealth of experience and creativity to their classes.  Many exhibit and sell their own work so are able to encourage students to develop their confidence and abilities.

Learning at the main Deane Road Campus takes place in state-of-the-art facilities and all students can access the college’s VLE (Moodle). Classes are also offered at our Community Learning Centres across Bolton. Day and evening options are available.

We offer Level one accredited courses in:

  • Graphic Design
  • Web Design
  • Digital Photography
  • Floristry
  • Fashion Design

From these Level 1 courses it is possible to develop a portfolio of work that can help you gain access to Higher Education courses.

Our arts courses cover a broad range of disciplines including: Acrylic, Pastels and Watercolour; Life Drawing, Landscape and Still Life; Graphic and Digital Design; Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator; Clothes Making; Textiles; Hand and Machine Embroidery; Floristry; Interior Design; Jewellery Design; Pottery; Stained Glass; Photography; Web Design; Guitar and Keyboards; Acting; Screenwriting; and Dancing.

A creative course allows you to express yourself and can be both rewarding and relaxing. Many of our students find that the open atmosphere of our arts classes encourages their development and creates a welcoming and sociable environment.

Several disciplines offer training at a range of levels, allowing you to enter at a suitable level and develop your skills.

Previous students have gone on to perform in local amateur productions or to submit their work to Bolton Museum and Art Gallery’s Open Art exhibition.
