Welcome to Deane & Derby Community Learning Centre. Located in Board Street, off Deane Road, the centre provides first step learning opportunities, together with excellent progression routes for further learning and training, in a user friendly environment.
Courses are available to learners living in the Deane, Derby, Daubhill, Great Lever and Central areas of Bolton.
Our open invitation extends to adults taking initial steps back into education. Highly accessible tasters and short introductory courses are delivered in community venues where learners feel more comfortable.
Our courses cover a range of subjects and are designed to encourage learners to progress onto higher levels as their confidence and skills develop. Courses are stimulating and tailored to individual needs, enabling you to fulfil your potential and achieve life-enhancing goals.
All our courses are delivered by friendly and supportive tutors, many of whom have taken a non-traditional route back into learning.
You can enrol at any of our Community Learning Centres.
The tutor is absolutely wonderful, very easy to get on with. At the moment, we’re doing templates, emails and writing formal and informal letters - it gives you a real taste of what it would be like to work in an office environment.

I chose Office Skills to gain some qualifications. I already work but I’m hoping this course will lead to promotion. I’d like to become a receptionist or even work in customer service. I’m really enjoying the course, the tutor is so lovely, helpful and very interactive. We’ve built up some computer based knowledge and we’re working on office related skills too.
