The PGCE course at Bolton College is challenging but has definitely been worth all the hard work. • • I completed my Assessors Course at Bolton College two years ago, which gave me an insight into teaching and inspired me to return to education at the age of 40 to complete my PGCE. The tutors are fantastic and have helped me to develop my existing skills so I can become a better teacher. Once I’ve completed my course I’m hoping to get a full-time job teaching catering to students in College.

• • After working as a teaching assistant for five years, I decided to take the plunge and start training to become a teacher. The course is split into three main areas – Psychology, Education and English. This has given me a good overview of the different skills I’ll need when working as a teacher. I’ve just accepted an offer to go to Bolton University to do my Early Years and Childhood Studies. I can’t wait!

  • The College is local so it made good sense to come here. My tutor has been a really good teacher, so I've enjoyed the course. The College is nice too, it's friendly and the classrooms are great. I always feel comfortable here so it's a good environment to learn in. I've particularly loved working with children and being in the school environment so in the future I'm hoping to get a permanent placement in a school. I'd definitely recommend this course to others.
