Art & Design Level 1: NCFE

This course is meant for those students who have a passion for art and design media. This course is to develop basic skills in the areas such as drawing skills, digital skills, mixed media and design. You will collect a portfolio of evidence in order to complete a qualification.

You will cover these areas :

- Explore basics of materials, techniques and processes
- Use of visual language on and off the computer
- Complete small projects connected to utilising your skills
- Build a portfolio
- Final project to be displayed in college exhibition

- You will need a file and wallets to keep a portfolio of evidence and produce a final piece of artwork at the end of the course

This an NCFE Level 1 course and all students are required to collect a portfolio of evidence throughout the year which covers 3 units of the qualification :

1. Explore Craft Resources
2. Explore Craft Ideas
3. Create, Present and Review Final Craft Item

Written and oral feedback will be given by the tutor throughout the year.

A memory stick would be useful for all students to bring to classes.
You will need a sketchbook and art materials - these can be purchased in college.

Assessment

All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

Financial

Adult Learners

Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
