Photoshop Certificate Level 2

  • Overview of the course

    This course is meant for those students who have already some knowledge of Photoshop (natural progression from our Level 1 Photoshop course). Students having at least basic skills in using a digital camera would be beneficial but not essential. The main emphasis of the course will be on the use of Photoshop. Occasionally, you will be supporting your development with exploring links to other software such as Illustrator or similar. You will apply your skills in graphic style projects. You will collect a portfolio of evidence in order to complete a qualification. There is an enterprise unit attached to this qualification which involves finding, planning and completing own projects and looking at general issues in digital imaging industry.

    You will cover these areas
    • Expand your use of Photoshop (main subject area)
    • Get to know Illustrator or other supporting software basics
    • Use a digital camera to aid your projects
    • Improve application of visual language on the computer
    • Complete small projects connected to combining all your skills
    • Look at enterprise issues connected to digital imaging in practice eg. Sustainability, ethical issues , financial cost etc.
    • Final project to be displayed in college exhibition
  • Entry requirements

    • You will also need at least basic Photoshop skills (ideally Level 1 Photoshop) and good level of general computing skills.
    • Illustrator skills are welcome but not essential
    • Having your own digital camera and the knowledge of basic camera settings would be beneficial but not essential
    • You will need a file and wallets to keep a portfolio of evidence and produce a final piece of artwork at the end of the course.
    • Interview with tutors necessary
  • How will I be assessed?

    This an NCFE Level 2 course and all students are required to collect a portfolio of evidence throughout the year which covers 4 units of the qualification –
    • Unit 01 Use materials and resources to develop techniques
    • Unit 02 Develop and adapt ideas creatively
    • Unit 03 Create, present and evaluate final craft item(s)
    • Unit 04 Understand and explore enterprise skills

    Written and oral feedback will be given by the tutor throughout the year.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
