Business Introductory Diploma BTEC Level 1

Our full-time study programmes are designed to maximise your career prospects and widen your options for further or higher study.
This course has been designed to introduce you to the world of business. You will study pathways including Business Administration, Business Enterprise and Working Effectively in Business.
As part of the programme you will investigate business practices and create business ideas, alongside developing essential business and administrative skills. You will be taught in groups with younger learners.

You will study a range of business units including:
• Presenting a Business Idea
• Branding a Product
• Creating a Visual Display
• Organising a Meeting
• Communicating with Customers
• Personal Professional Development
The course will be delivered by experienced tutors from the world of business. As well as classroom teaching, you will investigate local and national businesses, including guest speakers from these businesses and visits to their place of work.

• You will be expected to have achieved at least Entry level 3 in Maths and English
• This course is aimed at learners 19+ who have successfully completed ESOL and are looking to progress their studies in the business area.

For each unit, you will complete a number of assignments and activities. These will include a mixture of:
• Presentations
• Observations
• Written reports
• Professional discussions
• Group assessments
• Practical activities
• Role Plays
• Employability skills (e.g. punctuality, attendance, communication and team work)
• Work experience (giving you a taste of working life)
• Tutorial & personal development (e.g. healthy living, volunteering and citizenship skills)

All of your tutors have worked extensively in the world of business and teach to their specialisms.

You could progress on to the BTEC Level 2 Understanding Enterprise course or alternatively, if you choose to look for paid work, you could opt for a Business Apprenticeship and work as an apprentice Administrator.

Assessment

All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

Financial

Adult Learners

Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
