    This course has been designed to introduce you to the exciting and varied world of Travel & Tourism with areas of study including UK Travel & Tourism, Customer Service in Travel & Tourism and Providing Information for a Tourist Destination. As part of the programme you will investigate different aspects of the Travel & Tourism industry including travel operations, cruise industries, tour operations, events and conferences and staycationing, as well as employability skills.

    This course provides a solid foundation of study for Travel & Tourism and provides progression to study at higher levels including Level 2 and Level 3 programmes of study. The course will also provide you with an exciting insight into the world of Travel and Tourism. Units include:

    We ask that you have four GCSEs grade 1-3 including maths and English and we will also invite you to attend an interview.

    After you have completed the course you could progress on to Higher Education and study Travel & Tourism related subjects including Tourism Management and Business & Tourism Management. Alternatively, if you choose to look for paid work you could opt for a Travel & Tourism Apprenticeship and work as an apprentice Travel Operative.

    Following further study you could work as:
    • A Business Travel Consultant, where you can earn between £27,000 and £30,000 per year
    • A Retail Travel Advisor, earning between £18,000 and £28,000 per year
    • A Reservation & Operations Executive, with a yearly salary of £25,000 to £30,000, depending on experience

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
