Mobile App Development Award Level 2

You will investigate the characteristics and uses of mobile apps. You will also design, develop and test your own mobile app in line with a design specification.

- The characteristics of mobile apps: considering the uses, features and programming of mobile apps
- How to produce a design specification for a mobile app: considering user requirements, resources, target platform, screen layout, navigation and other considerations
- Prepare assets and content for integration with a mobile app and produce the mobile app using an appropriate programming language
- Be able to use a test plan to carry out functionality testing of the mobile app against the design specification

To join the course, you MUST be 19 or over. Your English language must be good, at Level 1 or above. You must have strong IT knowledge in using a computer, Word, researching using the internet, PowerPoint

You will build a portfolio of work based around the assessment criteria set by gateway utilising a variety of assessment methods. You will receive verbal and written feedback throughout the course to support you in meeting the course aims.

A ring binder folder to keep your work organised is essential.
• You will also need to bring a pen and a notepad to take notes.
• You can bring your own device to support learning

This qualification is designed to enable progression into further learning at the same level (e.g. from an award to a certificate in Digital and IT Skills) or to further learning at a higher level.

We have a wide range of non-computer course if you want to try something completely different. Your tutor will give you advice and guidance on other courses within the college and can signpost you for more advice and training. Your tutor will discuss this during your course.

You can opt to pay these fees in monthly instalments. You can set this up during the enrolment.

Assessment

All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

Financial

Adult Learners

Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested.
