Early Years Practitioner NCFE CACHE Diploma Level 2

The aim of this qualification is to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age with applied knowledge in the early years. The qualification content meets the Department for Education's (DfE) Level Two full and relevant criteria for a Level Two Early Years Practitioner in the workforce. You will need to attend a work placement for a minimum of 250 hours in an early years setting where you will be required to carry out activities with children and demonstrate your skills. You will also be provided with directed study to complete at home as well as attend weekly sessions at Bolton College. Your course tutor will support you throughout the course.

You will be studying a variety of topics which include:
- Support physical care routines for children
- An introduction to the role of the early years practitioner
- Understand how to work in partnership
- Supporting children's play
- Support children's positive behaviour

You will also need to attend a work placement and gain 250 hours experience across the academic year. By doing this, you will gain hands on practical experience equipping you with the skills to become an Early Years Practitioner.

You will need 4 GCSE's grades 9-3 (A-D) including maths and English Language. You will also need to arrange your own work placement to attend for a minimum of two days a week and bring confirmation of this on enrolment and your first day. This must be in an early years setting that cares for children from birth to five years. You will need to attend a planned session in the college prior to the course start date to apply for a DBS disclosure.

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. This could include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by CACHE.

Some learning outcomes within this qualification will require assessment in a real work environment. This means you will be observed in the workplace by a qualified assessor.

You will need to be working/volunteering in an early years setting that cares for children from birth to five. You will need to obtain a minimum of 250 work placement hours as part of this course in order to achieve the qualification. You will need to arrange your own work placement to attend for a minimum of two days a week and bring confirmation of this on your first day. This must be in an early years setting that cares for children from birth to five years. Upon successful completion of this qualification learners can enter the workforce as a qualified Level Two Early Years Practitioner or continue to study for a Level 3 Diploma holding Early Years Educator status

Assessment

All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

Financial
