Early Years Advanced Practitioner Certificate Level 4

The NCFE CACHE Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner aims to provide professional development opportunities for practitioners working in the early years workforce at Level 3. It also includes the new PANCo award, for physical activity and nutrition coordinators.

This qualification will embrace the wealth of experience of the Level 3 early years workforce, and challenge you in both your daily practice and theoretical understanding. Upon achievement of the qualification, you will be equipped as an advanced practitioner. The advanced practitioner will use crucial leadership skills to mentor others across all roles and responsibilities in the early years workforce.

The qualification covers a range of early years topics at Level 4, including enabling children to learn, working with families and other professionals and implementing change, as well as specialist areas such as physical activity and nutrition (PANCO) and special educational needs (SENCO).

Learners will acquire and use skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection as they complete the qualification through work-based learning opportunities.

You will study five (5) units throughout the academic year. This includes
- Enabling children to learn
- Promoting health and well-being through physical activity and nutrition co-ordination (PANCo) in the early years
- Working with others to support children with additional needs, including Special Educational Needs and Disability
- Working with families and other professionals in early years settings
- Implementing change in an early years setting incorporating a small scale research project

Learners must be at least 18 years old and hold a full Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification. Learners are required to be employed in an early years setting at Level 3 to complete this qualification.

Learners must achieve 5 mandatory units. You will need to have access to the internet to submit written assignments for each unit. You will need to be computer literate and able to complete essay based assessments. Your tutor will fully support you through each unit and the College has a variety of support services available. Throughout the course, you may be given tasks to complete in setting to encourage you to participate in a leadership/SENCo/PANCo role. You will complete a variety of assignments including Q&A, Witness Statements, Reflective Accounts and a Research Project supported by a literature review.

This course is a classroom based course and attendance is extremely important. It is run one evening a week to accommodate the working pattern of Early Years Educators. You are required to have access to the internet at home to upload assignments.

This qualification provides progression to a Level 5 qualification such as the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (England). It will also prepare learners for further study of early years in higher education.

Tuition Fee: £811.00
You can opt to pay these fees in monthly instalments. You can set this up during the enrolment.

Assessment

All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

Financial

Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested.
