Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Level 3

  • Overview of the course

    Our Apprenticeship programmes will give you vital hands-on experience, learning from real life situations, with the guidance of Health & Social Care professionals.
    Lead Adult Care Workers may work in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres, a person’s own home or some clinical healthcare settings. In additional to Adult Care Worker duties, you will learn how to have responsibility for providing supervision, frontline leadership and directing and guiding others.
    The Apprenticeship is a great way to build on your skills and gain a recognised qualification whilst also earning a salary.

    • How to support the individuals you are working with according to their personal requirements
    • How to create and develop a care plan based on
    the person’s preferences in the way they want to be supported
    • How to monitor, plan and review a care plan in response to changing physical, social and emotional needs of individuals
    • Relevant statutory Standards and Codes of Practice for your role
    • What the ‘Duty of Care’ is in practice
    • How to lead and support others to ensure compliance with regulations and organisational policies and procedures
  • Entry requirements

    You will undertake an enhanced disclosure and barring service check before starting the programme and you must obtain Level 1 in the Maths and English test that you will be required to sit. Additional entry requirements may be determined by individual employers.

    You will sit an End Point Assessment, which consists of a Situational Judgement Test and a Professional Discussion.

    On successful completion of this Apprenticeship, you could progress onto full-time employment, professional job-specific qualifications, Higher Apprenticeships or a degree programme.
    Following further study you could work as:
    • Family Support Worker, earning between £18,000 and£50,000 per year.
    • An Outreach Worker, earning between £20,000 and£35,000 per year.
    • A Care Home Manager, earning between £20,000 and£54,000 per year

    Coronavirus Update


    In response to the COVID-19 situation we have made a number of changes to our traditional admissions and enrolment processes.
    All conditional offers and enrolments are currently being processed based on the information available to us at the time of a telephone interview and/or online enrolment.
    Once a course starts and we are able to meet with learners in person we may need to alter the class an individual attends if they do not meet the course entry requirements. We will keep learners informed of any decision to alter their class and support them through any changes necessary.
    Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in these unprecedented times.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to teh exams you took):

    Studying at College

The proportion of these hours will depend on the individual qualification(s) being undertaken. You must do the work set during directed study or it will impact your progress on the course and therefore your achievement.
