Mental Health Awareness Level 1 Award

  • Overview of the course

    This is a non-accredited course where you will:

    • Raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health difficulties
    • Dispel some of the myths and misconceptions frequently linked to mental health issues
    • Develop learners’ knowledge of the rights of those with mental health issues

    It is meant to be a short introduction before joining the 10 week accredited NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness course, which explores mental health in more detail.

    You will develop and improve your awareness of mental health by exploring:

    • what is meant by mental health
    • the social and personal effects of mental ill-health
    • the responses of mental health issues
    • the cultural diversity in relation to mental health issues
  • Entry requirements

    There are no entry requirements other than curiosity and a commitment however you need to attend all of your classes.
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder of work which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your Individual Learning Plan.

    There will be no exams and you will be assessed through coursework.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
