    This course will give you the opportunity to gain simple skills which will assist you to develop more confidence, to begin to feel good about yourself and improve your image. You will also find out how you can progress on to other courses.

    You will:
    • Develop your confidence through speaking up and speaking out in a group situation
    • Explore your personal need to manage stress and learn simple methods to reduce your stress
    • Be aware of confident behaviour and explore ways to improve your confidence
    • Explore how feeling good about yourself helps you with your confidence
    • Investigate healthy eating in relation to wellbeing
    • Find out image and style to promote a feel good factor
  • Entry requirements

    You need to be an independent learner, have a willingness to learn and have interest in the subject. You must have basic English skills. This is a discreet group. You will have been referred to this course by Bolton at Home
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder of work which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your Individual Learning Plan.

    A ring binder folder to keep your work organised is essential. Please bring a pen also.

    There are other courses offered under the positive steps provision such as Aromatherapy for Health & Wellbeing & Mindfulness
    Free English and maths courses are available to all leaners who do not hold a current GCSE at grade C or above
    Free Computers for Beginners courses are available for learners with no or very low computer user

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, please call our helpline on 01204 482 000.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must bring their qualification certificates with them to enrolment. Learners will not be able to enrol without this information. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one you need):
    If you are unable to provide certificates you will be asked to complete a self declaration form when you enrol.
