If you give us commitment, enthusiasm and motivation, we will give you the knowledge and practical skills that you need to further your education or find employment in the sports industry.

A ‘work hard play hard’ ethos is expected of all students and a balanced approach to the sporting/academic demands of the programme is essential.

Engaging with employers is also an integral part of this programme – we’ll seek to ensure that you have opportunities to gain real-world experience of your chosen sector.

Topics on your Study Programme will include:
• Principles of Anatomy & Physiology
• Fitness Training & Programming for Health, Sport & Wellbeing
• Professional Development in the Sports Industry
• Sports Leadership
• Application of Fitness Testing
• Sports Psychology
• Practical Sports Performance
• Coaching for Sports Performance
• Research Methods in Sport
• Work Experience in Sport & Active Leisure
• Development & Provision of Sport & Physical Activity
• Investigating Business in Sport & Physical Leisure Industry
• Skill Acquisition in Sport
• Sports Injury Management

Additional qualifications you will gain are:
• Sports Leaders Award
• Choice between Higher Sports Leaders Award Level 3 or Gym Instructor Level 2
You will also complete a 30 hours work experience placement.

• A minimum of 4 GCSEs, graded 9-4, including English or Maths

You will be assessed through assignments and external exams.

Following further study you could work as a:

• Fitness Instructor, earning up to £30,000 per year
• Personal Trainer, earning up to £22,000 per year
• PE Teacher, earning up to £40,000

You'll have your own Learning Development Mentor (LDM) and Work Placement Officer, helping you create both academic and career plans.

Thanks to our partnership with the University of Bolton, you'll also benefit from everything the University has to offer, with a range of opportunities to build additional skills and experiences, giving you everything you need to become a FUTURE SUCCESS in whichever field you choose!

Exposure to employers is also an integral part of this programme – we'll seek to ensure that you have opportunities to gain real-word experience of your sector, either on short work experience or an extended Industry placement.
