Apprentice earns top award

Bolton College apprentice Blerta Zhitia is celebrating after landing a top award.

Blerta, a Level 3 Business Admin apprentice, won 'Best Young Worker' at Bolton Council's annual staff awards, 'Best of Bolton'.

Blerta, who works for the council's marketing team, secured her Apprenticeship after completing an industrial placement at the council. She was encouraged to apply for an Apprenticeship after impressing her colleagues with her excellent work ethic and commitment.

The ceremony, which was held at the Albert Halls, celebrates the work council staff do to improve the quality of life for everyone in the borough. Blerta, a Marketing, Events & Communications Assistant, won the accolade despite some tough competition.
