Bolton College hosts Skill Build competition!

In May, Bolton College were proud to host the Skill Build North West regional heats! 

Skill Build is the largest and longest-running multi-trade skills competition in the UK and brings together construction trainees and apprentices from across the country to compete in their chosen skills, for a chance to make it to the UK National Final, EuroSkills, and WorldSkills competitions.

The College's construction block hosted competitors in bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating, plastering and roofing. They were joined by employers and key figures from the construction sector, as well as suppliers who support the College, including BMI Redland, Klober, Hambleside Danelaw, Crown Paints, Marshalltown Tools, British Gymsup and FEST Tools. 

During the competition, students from across College enjoyed a plant simulator demonstration and interactive stands, demonstrating numerous construction skills, including bossing lead hoppers and sculpting clay gargoyles.
