Bolton College’s former business student, Morgan Parry, truly shone at this year’s Bolton & Bury Business Awards.
Morgan was nominated in the category of ‘Young Person of the Year’ for an ingenious business idea – a consultancy to improve the match day experience of disabled football fans.
Morgan drew upon his own experience as a Bolton Wanderers fan and wheelchair user and created a questionnaire to hand out to disabled fans at the game, detailing the whole match day experience, from the decision of where to buy a ticket, travel and the facilities available.
He shared his findings with Bolton Wanderers, Level Playing Field, the Premier League and the English Football League, who singled Morgan out and filmed him at a home game against Bristol Rovers. You can watch the video here.
Daniel Scott, Disabled Supporters Liaison Officer at Bolton Wanderers says “Morgan has done some great work with us at Bolton Wanderers over the past 12 months to improve access to stadia, for fellow disabled supporters. His audit questionnaire has helped us improve our match day experience for disabled supporters, both regular BWFC supporters and those visiting us to support the opposition team”.
Bill Webster, Principal of Bolton College added “Morgan’s nomination was so well deserved. I was delighted to join him on the night, we are so proud of Morgan and all that he has achieved, he is a credit to his family and to Bolton College”.
