Bolton College’s relationship with the Dulux Academy continues to flourish, with another masterclass delivered by Mark Rigby, Dulux’s Skills Development Consultant.
Bolton College is one of a select few colleges in the country that Dulux Academy works with, using the facilities in the College’s cutting-edge construction building to deliver specialist skills training to employers, decorators and students.
Today’s session was delivered to B & Q staff from the surrounding area, who learnt more about the products they sell including trade paint, retail paint and wood stains, benefiting from Mark’s 30 years’ of industry experience.
The relationship between Dulux Academy and Bolton College is also benefiting its learners. A number have participated in Mark’s masterclasses, helping to improve their employability and sharpen their CV.
Mark Rigby commented, “I always get a good welcome at the College and it’s a great place to deliver my training. I’m already looking forward to my next visit”.
Simon Spencer, a construction tutor at Bolton College added, “It’s a pleasure to host the Dulux Academy. It brings employers into College which has allowed us to get some great Apprenticeship opportunities for our learners - in the past two years we’ve engaged 30 new apprentices, in part thanks to our relationship with the Dulux Academy”.
Students have also benefited from free vouchers and materials from Dulux, and new learners are also given a B&Q Trade Point card, ensuring that they have all of the essential equipment to progress from education to employment.
