The New Year marks an exciting new chapter at Bolton College as we officially welcome Liam Sloan as our new Principal and CEO.

Liam joins us with a wealth of experience in education leadership and a genuine passion for making a difference. With over 25 years in the sector, Liam began his career as a Business Lecturer at Doncaster College & University Centre, where he built his foundation in education. From those early days in the classroom, Liam has worked his way up through senior leadership roles, gaining experience at all levels and earning a reputation for delivering exceptional results.

Originally from Dumfries, Scotland, Liam has worked across the globe, building dynamic teams and delivering outstanding results. Most recently, he served as Provost at Federation University Australia, where he led the university's vocational and higher education portfolios in addition to their research and innovation portfolios. He managed multiple innovative projects and championed collaboration to drive success.

Beyond his professional achievements, Liam’s sporting credentials are just as impressive - he’s represented Scotland in badminton and England in dressage.

Liam’s commitment to transforming lives through education and his ambitious vision for Bolton College’s future set the stage for exciting times ahead. We can’t wait to see the energy, ideas, and leadership he’ll bring to our College.
