All applicants are considered by the Search and Governance Committee of the Board against a person specification. Applicants are invited to attend an informal interview with members of the Committee and recommendations for appointment are then made to the Board. When considering appointments, the Committee will use the findings of the latest skills audit of members of the Board to identify any skills gap.
In the event that the number of suitable candidates exceeds the number of vacancies, a waiting list will be set up. Persons on the waiting list may be co-opted onto one of the Committees of the Board to gain experience pending their appointment as a full member of the Board.
