    - This course is ideal for you if you would like to gain an elementary knowledge of the French language and culture, and the ability to meet your basic communicative needs on a visit to France.

    - State-of-the-art facilities, including interactive whiteboards and virtual learning environment; an experienced and highly-qualified teacher.
  • What you'll learn

    The emphasis is on communication. Written homework will be used to reinforce what is covered in class.

    Topics covered over the three terms are:

    Introductions; Bar/Café; Asking the way; Opening hours; Self and family; Likes and dislikes; Shopping; Accommodation; Transport; Tourist information; Restaurant.

    The order may vary according to the needs of the class.
  • Entry requirements

    An A4 file, dividers and writing paper and pens. There will be many handouts, so these are essential for you to organise your work and find what you need.
    The tutor will tell you what book to buy.
    - Willingness to work with and support others - your fellow-students are important partners in communication practice.
  • How will I be assessed?

    - Continuous assessment by role-plays and listening tasks in class and written homework.
    - There is no exam.

    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.
