Painters & Decorators are always in demand across the UK; with new buildings and houses being constructed, you'll never be out of opportunities for work. With our Painting & Decorating Apprenticeship, you'll gain the real skills and real experience that employers are looking for, all whilst earning a wage!
To continually develop the quality of our Painting & Decorating Apprenticeships, we've introduced new Apprenticeship standards, developed by employer groups called ‘Trailblazers’. Employers such as K&M McLoughlin Decorating Ltd, Axis Europe & Cousins Ltd know what they want from their employees, so they're best placed to describe what skills, knowledge and behaviours you'll need for your career in Painting & Decorating. This means our Apprenticeships will give you all the right skills you need to secure permanent employment or progress to further or higher education.
When you’re in College, you’ll learn in our modern Construction Block, using industry-standard tools and materials, overlooked by industry-experienced tutors; plus you'll have personal one-to-one support from your own dedicated Work Based Tutor, who'll visit you on site.
So, what does a Painter & Decorator do?
You can work on a wide range of painting and decorating jobs, from domestic, to commercial, to industrial. It may be a simple house renovation or something more extravagant such as maintaining a historic building. Measuring how much material is required, stripping old surfaces, mixing and applying paint or other materials - the key elements of any Painter & Decorator role. Once qualified, you can expect to earn between £15,000 to £30,000 per year and with experience, you could become a Team Supervisor or move into interior or set design. You could even choose to set up your own business!
