Barbering T Level (Level 3)

For 2022, the UK’s market size of the hairdressing, barbering and beauty industry was valued at an astonishing £2.8 billion!* This means a barbering qualification will open up a range of opportunities, giving you the practical and technical skills to excel in this inspiring and exciting sector.

This T Level, equivalent to three A Levels, will give you the skills for success in the creative world of barbering, giving you the qualification to begin a rewarding career, or preparing you for further study at university.

You shouldn’t have difficulty finding work either! You’ll spend 20% of your time on an Industry Placement, giving you vital experience in the world of work and a CV to wow future employers.

This course is delivered by expert tutors and industry specialists, ensuring that the skills you learn are up to date and demanded by the hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy sector.

• Business Practices
• Sales & Marketing
• The Client Journey
• Safe Working Practices and more.

You’ll then focus on your occupational specialism: Barbering.

A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths

You’ll be assessed via a mixture of assignments, employer-set projects and exam(s)

The sole purpose of a T Level is to prepare you for employment and a dynamic career. You could work as a:
• Hair Stylist, earning up to £30,000 per year
• Barber, earning up to £25,000 per year
• Salon Manager, earning up to £30,000 per year*

As part of our Pre-Professionals Programme, you'll have your own personal Learning Development Mentor, supporting you throughout your time at College. You'll also have access to a Careers Advisors and Work Placement Officer - they'll help you to manage your studies; oversee your progress; aid in your personal development; and enrich your learning, giving you exposure to not only employers, but leading companies in your sector.

You'll benefit from masterclasses, industry visits and project-based learning, and you'll also receive support with CV writing, personal statements, mock interviews and more, so that when it comes to the crunch, you have the skills and confidence to impress.
