Overview of the course
This course helps learners develop their art and design skills and has been designed for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities assessed at Entry Level. Learners will also have a one hour tutorial with their personal tutor each week. Alongside this, learners will undertake 30 hours of enrichment activities and a 30 hour work placement.
What you'll learn
Learners will complete units on:
• Craft skills
• Working in art and design
• A personal project
• Developing painting and drawing
• Produce craft work
• Self-management skills
Learners will develop maths and English skills at the appropriate level and attend employability skills sessions which will develop learner’s confidence, communication, teamwork and job seeking skills.
There are no entry requirements other than an interest and a commitment however you need to attend all of your classes.
How will I be assessed?
Learners will be assessed by the tutor and support workers, observing learners completing tasks either independently or with support. Staff will question learners to check understanding and recall and to encourage choice making. All learners will build a portfolio of evidence to achieve their qualification.

Potential students and their parents/ carers are welcome to come and sit in a session to see what we do.
